Back in the day, I was a huge fan of Entourage. Even when it was lulling a bit, I watched every episode from beginning to end and, really, I was disappointed when the finale aired. I felt like the show had a little more to give and, of course, it felt like the show stopped right in the middle of some story lines but that was the point. Now, they can justify a movie to wrap things up.
The plot will revolve around movie star, Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), and his best friends, Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) as well as his brother Johnny/Drama (Kevin Dillon). Naturally, Vinny has Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) by his side which is better than ever since he’s now the head of the studio. They might have slightly different goals these days but not even Hollywood can break their bond.
Although, it’s a slight stretch to argue that this movie is necessary since fans seemed to have moved on just fine since the finale aired on September 11, 2011, the trailer does look decent. If anything, they could have worked on giving it more of a “movie feel” instead of just making it seem like an extended episode.
We see a lot of familiar faces including Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Scott (Scott Caan) and Ari’s wife (Perrey Reeves) but there are also some new additions such as Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment. Of course, there was a cameo by producer/creator, Mark Wahlberg. I wonder what the situations are going to be like between Sloan and E as well as Ari and his wife who, in the clip below, are shown (again) in couples therapy. Honestly, when your husband runs a studio can you really expect him to be at home for dinner every night? Sigh, but I digress…
