It took until Game 5 but Steph Curry finally looks like the Steph Curry who won the regular season MVP award. Matthew Dellavedova, who defended him well during the first four contests, was no match on this night. Curry finished with 37 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 104-91, to take a 3-2 lead in the Finals.
The MVP also hit the biggest shot of the game — a three-pointer over the helpless defense of Dellavedova:
That was absolutely disgusting.
As for LeBron James, he did everything humanly possible. Unfortunately for him, his 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists weren’t enough on this night. He now goes home to Cleveland where he will attempt to lead his Cavs in a must-win Game 6 showdown.
However, if Curry can stay hot, the Warriors will simply be too deep and too talented for the short-handed Cavs squad.
