A new poll conducted by SurveyUSA indicates that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump would narrowly defeat every Democrat in a general election. According to the poll, Trump would triumph over Hillary Clinton by a 45 percent to 40 percent margin. In a head-to-head matchup with Bernie Sanders, Trump wins 44 percent to 40 percent. Even against Joe Biden (who typically polls at very likable, even though he’s not yet in the Presidential race), Trump comes out on top, 44 percent to 42 percent.

Even more interesting, within the subset of voters that say they pay “a lot” of attention to politics, the gap between Trump and the Democrats grows.

    • Trump 54%, Clinton 36%
    • Trump 53%, Sanders 39%
    • Trump 53%, Biden 37%

Of course this is just one poll, but it’s noteworthy because in many previous national polls, Trump was trailing the Democrats in a general election, even though he was greatly favored to be the Republican nominee.

In other Trump news, the real estate mogul now holds a 7-point lead in Iowa and a 16-point lead in New Hampshire.
