Donald Trump may be leading the Republican candidates in his bid to secure the nomination for presidential nominee but he doesn’t have a place on NBC’s payroll anymore. When Trump first expressed his interest in running for president, some of the things he began saying rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. In response to his tirades, NBC chose to remove him as host of The Celebrity Apprentice.

During the TCA panels in August 2015, network chairman, Bob Greenblatt, explained that there would be an official delay on Celebrity Apprentice as they searched for a new host. While they wanted to avoid someone who made divisive, derogatory comments about specific racial and ethnic groups, they were hoping to get someone who is “going to make noise and has a big personality.”

It looks like they’ve found that person.

Actor and former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will be sitting in the boardroom when Celebrity Apprentice returns. It should be interesting since he will also have his son, Patrick, by his side, acting as an assistant. When Trump has his daughter, Ivanka, and son, Donald Jr., in similar roles (for which they are actually qualified – Patrick is an underwear model who used to date Miley Cyrus!), I found the dynamic kind of annoying. I have a feeling that I will be doubly irritated to see Arnold taking advice from his 22-year-old son.

Fortunately, he will have some real advisors with real business experience on hand including Warren Buffett, Steve Ballmer, Tyra Banks and Jessica Alba. It’s kind of a cool variety of people, to be honest.

Of course, the most interesting part is the upcoming cast since, ultimately, they will be the ones making fools of themselves for our benefit. While I mostly see this as a bit of a gong show, I have been surprised in the past by some people’s surprising amount of business savvy. I wonder if anyone will shock us with their smarts this season.

Thew new cast includes:

  • Laila Ali
  • Brooke Burke-Charvet
  • Eric Dickerson
  • Boy George
  • Matt Iseman
  • Carrie Keagan
  • Carson Kressley
  • Lisa Leslie
  • Jon Lovitz
  • Vince Neil
  • Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi
  • Kyle Richards
  • Chael Sonnen
  • Porsha Williams
  • Ricky Williams
  • Carnie Wilson

I wonder what Schwarzenegger will say when he puts someone on the chopping block. It’s highly unlikely that he’s going to stick with “you’re fired” but I think it would be way too stupid and cheesy for him to say something like “hasta la vista, baby.” Any ideas? Will you be watching?
