Donald Trump is leading the Republican field in South Carolina by a 9-point margin, according to the latest Clemson University Palmetto Poll. Trump topped the GOP candidates with 28 percent support in poll, followed by Ted Cruz with 19 percent and Marco Rubio with 15 percent.
These findings are very consistent with other polls in South Carolina, which show Trump on the top of the heap with Cruz and Rubio battling it out for second place.
Jeb Bush finds himself with 10 percent support in the Clemson poll. If those results hold true in the primary, will that be enough to keep the former Florida governor in the race? Rumors have been circulating that Bush will need a third-place finish if he’s to carry on in his bid for the White House.
The Republican primary in South Carolina takes place on Saturday. Thirteen percent of voters surveyed said they are still undecided.
