A 29-year-old Phoenix mother stabbed her three children to death before trying to kill herself early on Thursday. When police arrived at the scene and began searching her home in the early hours of morning, they made the gruesome discovery — her three young sons dead and partially dismembered in a closet.

The deceased boys, identified as 8-year-old Jaikare Rahaman, 5-year-old Jeremiah Adams and 2-month-old Avery Robinson, had been stabbed to death by their mother, Octavia Rogers. The baby was stuffed in a suitcase.
When Rogers’ brother arrived at the home shortly after midnight, his sister was talking irrationally and then locked him inside the garage. She reportedly went into the house and began stabbing herself. When the brother forced his way inside the home, he found his sister bleeding from the neck and abdomen. He grabbed some towels and sheets, and called 911.
Rogers told the police that her kids were with a caretaker. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded. After she taken to the hospital, authorities began searching the home and found the children’s bodies.
“An absolutely horrific scene for the officers and for her brother to arrive to,” Sgt. Trent Crump said.
