Beyoncé and HBO really scored big with her visual album, Lemonade. Not only was the music on point but the content drove people insane. While everyone speculated about the rumors and whether anything we were seeing was true, they also commented on the fact that Queen Bey is powerful enough to have commanded some pretty incredible guests. Among them was tennis great, Serena Williams.
The 34-year-old athlete showed off some pretty impressive twerking skills alongside Beyoncé whom, she says, she’s known “for a long time.” Despite being in incredible shape, however, Williams admitted that it was still a bit of a challenge. “I got really sore from dancing!” she said.
The video for “Sorry” takes place inside of a plantation home in Louisiana and fans were shocked and thrilled to see Williams and Bey sharing a screen. It was an exciting opportunity but, like a real pro, Williams was able to keep her participation in the project tightly under wraps.
Williams told the Wall Street Journal: “If you tell me, ‘Don’t say anything,’ I won’t say anything.” Fellow tennis star, Caroline Wozniacki, confirmed that Williams “really kept it a secret” and that she had no idea about it until she saw the video with the rest of the world.
Already, Lemonade has been certified platinum with all 12 tracks entering the Billboard Hot 100 upon release back in May. That’s the first time a woman has been able to chart 12 songs at once! Take that, Taylor Swift!
