The shakeup in Donald Trump‘s campaign staff continues. On Friday, campaign manager Paul Manafort resigned. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Manafort once coordinated a lobbying operation to sway America public opinion to favor Ukraine’s pro-Russian government.
“This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign,” Trump said in a statement.
“I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success.”
It’s difficult to tell if Manafort’s resignation will truly affect the Trump campaign in any way. The GOP nominee continues to trail Hillary Clinton in most national polls.
