Fox News host Greta Van Susteren has left Fox News after 14 years at the network — effective immediately. Brit Hume will take over for Van Susteren as anchor for “On the Record.”
The surprising news about Van Susteren’s exit came shortly after it was announced that former anchor Gretchen Carlson and the network reached a $20 million settlement in sexual harassment suit against former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes.
The timing of Van Susteren’s announcement has raised some eyebrows, but reportedly the two situations have nothing to do with each other.
Van Susteren said that Fox “has not felt like home to me for a few years.” She went on to explain that she left now because there was a clause in her contract (that has a time limitation) that allowed her an out.
In the comments on her Facebook post, many viewers asked where Van Susteren plans to go next. She replied, “Where will you find me? I don’t know…I hope some place. I have not contacted any other networks to see if they might be interested.”
