A group of doctors were able to rescue an unfortunate cat from the brink of death after the small animal got caught in a hospital’s automatic door. The nerve-wracking video, which was filmed outside of a hospital in Istanbul, shows a group of medical professionals huddled around the cat.

One of the doctors can be seen performing CPR on the lifeless cat, using his hand as a makeshift defibrillator in order to restart its heart. The weakened animal jerks around in fits as the doctor prods its chest. After half a minute, the doctor checks the cat’s pulse and consults with a bystander before resuming the life-saving chest compressions.

Local reports claim that the stray cat’s life was saved, thanks both to the visitor who alerted staff to the suffering cat and to the doctors who performed the impromptu resuscitation.

Footage of the cat’s miraculous rescue has proven popular on social media, where commenters have expressed relief and gratitude for its survival.
