A white, left-leaning CNN contributor dropped the N-bomb on live television during a rant against President-elect Donald Trump, clearly sparking outrage from both the host and the African-American commentator that was also involved in the segment.
Charles Kaiser, a former reporter for The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, was slamming Trump on his choice of former Breitbart News executive chairman as chief strategist when he made the shocking gaffe.
“If you don’t want to support the alt-right, don’t choose as a White House counselor a man who uses the word n***er,” Kaiser said unflinchingly, prompting a flabbergasted reaction from host Brooke Baldwin and contributor Paris Dennard, who is a Trump supporter.
Baldwin paused the segment to chastise Kaiser, visibly tearing up while insisting that “it is not okay” for any guests to use the N-word on her show.
Kaiser immediately apologized, but claimed that he would only ever use such a word when quoting a powerful public figure. He then blasted Dennard as “shameful” for being an African-American who supports Trump.
The remark led Baldwin to abruptly halt the segment, again voicing how horrified she was to hear Kaiser use the N-word on her program. Baldwin ended the segment by noting that she had never heard any report of Bannon using the racial slur.
