President Barak Obama

Free at last! Free at last! Praise God, almighty; I’m free at last!

“Free? Free of what?” the undiscerning reader might well ask? “Free of Obama? Well, yes, but it’s not like he was personally oppressing you, after all.”

Correct; however, let me introduce you to Article 88, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Contempt Towards Officials:

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.1

“But you were retired from the armed forces.”

Yes, but I was still legally subject to the UCMJ.2

“So you just didn’t express your thoughts because you were afraid of the legal ramifications?”

No, it’s DoD and Army policy that no one will be recalled to duty merely to court-martial them. It takes, basically, “extraordinary circumstances.”3

“Then what’s your problem?”

Lack of any genuine risk or not, I take the retirement check so I take the obligations that come with it, to include keeping my figurative, literary yap shut when the next thing out of my figurative, literary mouth is going to be, “He’s a fraud, an empty suit that can read from a teleprompter, the suit filled up with Marxist rhetoric by the left wing professorial freak show of Columbia and Harvard Law, who’s had everything in his life handed to him, such that his resume isn’t even tissue paper thin.”

That’s all basically true, although with Article 88, truth is not a defense. And I took the oath and I take the check, so…

Obama is history, or, at least, will be until the last of his “legacy” is obliterated by Trump, as I expect it to be. Then he won’t even be much of history. Still, it seems a good time also to point out what did and didn’t happen during his presidency and what it turned out that he was and wasn’t. One thing, and we all ought be very grateful for it; nobody in history has worked to galvanize the right the way Obama did. But for him, God knows, Hillary might have been president eight years ago. Lefties, often sobbing, can’t quite control their hosannas and their recitals of, “Thank you, President Obama.” All I can say to that is, “Dude/dudette; I’m with you on this one! BIG thumbs up; yuuuge. We, all of us, owe a big debt of gratitude for Obama keeping Felonia von Pantsuit out of the Oval Office in 2008 and in 2016.”

Obamacare? Well, here’s the truth of the matter: America is addicted to medical care and demands that it be delivered in infinite quantity, in flawless quality, no matter the cost, as long as no one has to pay anything like full price, directly. Unfortunately, the cost does matter, and even if we were willing to devote infinite resources to medicine, we lack the human quality to provide what’s demanded. Short version: He had to do something; eventually we were going to bankrupt ourselves in the interests of keeping someone’s great-grandmama alive another day or so. I’m not sure what that something was, mind you, and I am pretty sure that Obamacare wasn’t it. But, be fair; he really had to try to do something. So will Donald Trump, and I don’t mean just repeal Obamacare. You may as well get used to the idea.

I think my deepest criticisms of Obama lie in two fields; he encouraged black racism (or let his underlings, like Holder, do so), and he caused or allowed serious damage to be done to the military in search of some preposterous left wing fantasy. Then again, if those were the prices to be paid for keeping the Hildebeest out of the White House, maybe the combined price wasn’t too high. Even within the military, fire most of the flag officers and the damage can be undone in time. Black racism, as inspired, for example, by the political canonization of Saint Trayvon of the Hood? That’s going to be a bigger problem and, so I suspect, it will be biggest of all for blacks.

Finally; I don’t think I was ever much moved by claims that he was a closet Muslim. Neither was I by his presence in Jeremiah Wright’s “church” while the Reverend Wright intoned, “God damn America.” In the latter case, he was doing what a “community organizer” does, and connecting with his community. In both cases, I was pretty sure that he was too busy worshipping himself to spend any sincere effort on God/Allah.

Not a natural born citizen? Well, to quote somebody or other, who shall never be president, “What difference…at this point, what difference does it make?” However, even if true, it was always going to be an uphill battle to fight it. His failure to give up a valid looking birth certificate? I suspect – I didn’t for a long time but eventually came round – that that was simply a line of defense that, if breached, he could fall behind without any loss because he had the real thing stashed away. What it was a line of defense for is hard to say, but at least one academic friend of mine suspected it was that not only was his resume paper thin, but that a perusal of his academic records would show what his presidency indicates – a man of middling intellect and little talent, articulate enough, but advanced mainly because he was a useful tool to someone’s agenda.

And I’ll close now with these words, written several years ago, and directed at sundry conspiracy loons rather than Obama:

As everyone knows, Obama was born from a virgin test tube in a super secret lab somewhere in Siberia during the Cold War. His genetic makeup includes Lenin, Stalin, and Patrice Lumumba. The ovum was rescued from Rosa Luxemburg’s corpse by a dedicated member of the Spartakusbund who had been studying eugenics at Humboldt University in Berlin at the time. The ovum was frozen at the University but seized by Red Army troops on or about the 3rd of May, 1945. He was decanted sometime before the 4th of August, 1961, and the new baby brought to Hawaii by a special KGB-manned submarine, landed, and registered as native born. His notional mother was recruited expressly to raise him as a Red. She is not, in fact, dead but retired to a nice little dacha on the Black Sea. The cancer-killed-his-grandmother story is a lie; George Soros had the poor old typical white woman killed lest she reveal the secret.4
