You might want to have your vomit bag ready because this is one disgusting story. A father in the UK became so angry when his teenage daughter confided her confusion about her sexuality that he raped her in an attempt to prove that “sex was better with men.” Now, he’s facing over two decades in jail.

The 54-year-old perpetrator, whose identity has not been released in order to protect the victim, is accused of carrying out a corrective rape against his 16-year-old daughter after she confessed to him that she might be gay.

According to Judge Andrew Lockhart, the crime “involved degradation and humiliation” brought about by the defendant’s “uncontrolled anger.”

“As a 16-year-old girl she realized she was gay and, struggling with her identity as many people do at that age, she decided to tell you,” the judge said. “The offense demonstrated your hostility towards her as a lesbian.”

The court also found that the father also committed similar atrocities involving the victim’s sister across multiple incidents dating back to the 1980s and 90s. He was found guilty of three counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and one count of indecency with a child, crimes that Judge Lockhart saw fit to punish with a 21-year prison sentence.

The UK’s National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children released a statement praising the victim’s courage in coming forward and encouraging other survivors to bring their abuse to light.

“The victims in this horrific case have shown incredible courage to speak out and ensure this evil abuser is brought to justice,” a spokesman said. “It is vital they now receive the support they need to attempt to move forward with their lives.”

“This case shows that survivors of abuse will be listened to, no matter how long ago it happened or who the abuser was. They do not need to suffer in silence,” he added.
