Rep. Steve King courted controversy over the weekend with a tweet that rankled leftists everywhere by daring to speak out against rampant illegal immigration, but on Monday, he did not show any sign of buckling to the flood of liberal tears.
“Well, of course I meant exactly what I said,” King said on CNN’s “New Day” with host Chris Cuomo. “[Y]ou cannot rebuild your civilization with somebody else’s babies. You’ve got to keep your birth rate up and that you need to teach your children values, and in doing so, then you can grow your population, you can strengthen your culture, and you can strengthen your way of life.”
King echoed the offending tweet that he published on Sunday in response to nationalist politician Geert Wilders, whose populist beliefs have made him the enemy du jour of the globalist elite and their mainstream media cohorts.
Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can't restore our civilization with somebody else's babies. https://t.co/4nxLipafWO

Later in the interview, King made the case that he is simply trying to defend American culture and Western civilization. “We’re a country here, that if you take a picture of what America looks like, you can do it in a football stadium or a basketball court and you see all kinds of different Americans there. We’re pretty proud of that, the different looking Americans that are still Americans.”
He went on to clarify that it is less about race and more about culture when it comes to flooding the United States with immigrants who wish to bring the culture of their homeland into the country and not assimilate to its values.
“It’s not about race. It’s never been about race, and in fact, the struggles across this planet, we describe that as race. They’re not race – they’re culture-based. It’s the clash of cultures, not the race,” King explained.
