Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton chose to ignore her litany of scandals, her failure to connect with the American middle class, and her campaign’s poor strategizing when offering a post-mortem of her Oval Office bid at a women’s empowerment summit over the weekend.
Instead, she blamed man-hating voters for choosing Donald Trump over her solely based on gender.
Clinton made the bold suggestion when attempting to wrap her head around why 53 percent of white American women voted for Trump instead of her.
“Certainly misogyny played a role,” Clinton proclaimed at the Women in the World Summit in New York City. “I mean, that just has to be admitted.” She declined to provide any evidence that would root her claim in the realm of certainty.
“I think in this election there was a very real struggle between what is viewed as change that is welcomed and exciting to many Americans, and change which is worrisome and threatening to so many others,” she continued. “And layer on the ‘first woman president’ over that and I think some people, women included, had real problems.”
Oh, so women can be misogynists, too. Thanks, Hillary.
Lest we forget the Clinton campaign’s other scapegoats, Clinton made sure to blast FBI Director James Comey and WikiLeaks as other “determinative” reasons why she lost the election. Almost in passing, Clinton also suggested that her campaign “certainly could have done better.”
