Alleged comedian Stephen Colbert has gone off the rails with a bizarre, profane rant against President Donald Trump that saw him issue the kind of remark that would instantly get a conservative commentator banned from the industry if it were hurled at a liberal darling.
“In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster,” Colbert said during the Monday episode of “The Late Show.” True to form, the audience erupted in cheers and laughter at the disgusting quip.
Colbert had worked himself into a tizzy over Trump’s interview with John Dickerson, the host of “Face the Nation” on CBS who was apparently grievously insulted when the president joked that he prefers to call the program “Disgrace the Nation.”
“Donald Trump, John Dickerson is a fair-minded journalist and one of the most competent people who will ever walk into your office, and you treat him like that?” Colbert huffed. “Dickerson has way too much dignity to trade insults with a president of the United States to his face.”
High off his righteous indignation, Colbert began spewing insults of his own as his career drifted further toward irrelevancy.
““Mr. President, I love your presidency. I call it ‘Disgrace the Nation,’” he said. “You’re not the POTUS; you’re the ‘BLOTUS.’ You’re the glutton with the button. You’re a regular ‘Gorge Washington.’ You’re the ‘presi-dunce’ but you’re turning into a real ‘prick-tator.’”
Colbert went on to blast Trump as a “sign-language gorilla” who attracts “skinheads” before things rapidly devolved into an egregious homophobic slur involving the leaders of the United States and Russia.
Commenters have been swift to decry Colbert. “This would be a fireable offense in better times. Worst thing about many Trump critics is they use him as an excuse to act as awful or worse,” one person wrote on Twitter, while another opined: “For not being a journalist he sure tries hard to act like he is with his non stop political coverage.”
