After surviving the sex scandal that destroyed his marriage (and the beating he took from his wife), you’d think that Tiger Woods would get his life together but, alas, this man has not learned his lesson.
The legendary golfer was pulled over in Florida around 3 a.m. on suspicion that he was driving under the influence. The 41-year-old was then booked into the Palm Beach County Jail where he stayed until he was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 a.m. He has been formally charged with a DUI.
It’s a shame because Woods was once an incredible role model. He was at the top of his game, he had an amazing relationship with his parents, and he was the picture-perfect family man.
Then, he slept with dozens of women, got divorced, and suffered setbacks on the green due to a series of injuries (including a fourth fusion surgery on his back this past April), but seemed to find stability in his relationship with pro skiier, Lindsay Vonn. Now that their romance has ended, he seems aimless and lost all over again.
Just this past week, though, it seemed that, although he is dealing with physical setbacks, he had the right attitude. On his blog, he wrote: “Presently, I’m not looking ahead. I can’t twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”
This, of course, is after sitting out for the entire 2016 season as he healed from back injuries and then missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open this past January. He did make it to the Dubai Desert Classic in February but had to withdraw due to back spasms.
Let’s hope Tiger Woods gets his life together soon. Maybe, it’s time to retire and stop putting so much pressure on himself. It doesn’t seem like his body wants to play golf any more and he’s just ruining his life in the process.
