It’s been just over a week since what appears to have been a suicide bomber launched an attack on concertgoers at Manchester Arena. The crowd, which had gathered to see Ariana Grande, could have never known how horrifically their lives were about to change. Sadly, 22 lives were lost that day and dozens more were injured.
Now, Grande is preparing to return to the venue this Sunday along with some powerful friends. So far, the lineup includes Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Pharrell, Take That, and Niall Horan of One Direction. It’s entirely possible that more big names could be added as we get closer to the event.
The proceeds of the show will go to the victims’ families which, of course, cannot undo all of the damage that has been done but, undoubtedly, will help during this awful time.
It’s pretty brave of Ariana to return to this area so soon after this terrorist attack. She had to have been, at least, rattled by what she saw and heard. It would be completely understandable if she didn’t want to perform for a long time. I haven’t been a fan of hers on a personal level but I do really respect this.
Hopefully, this will help bring some happiness back to Manchester. It’s a shame that this had to happen at all.
