There have been widespread reports that Ben Affleck’s Batman is leaving the DC Comics Extended Universe but the actor was quick to shoot down this nonsense during the Justice League panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
Ben Affleck’s Batman Ain’t Going Nowhere!
“Let me be clear. I’m the luckiest guy. Batman is the coolest f**king part in any universe, DC, Marvel,” Affleck explained. “I am so thrilled to do it. I know there’s this misconception that because I’m not directing it, that maybe I wasn’t enthusiastic about it. It’s f**king amazing! I still can’t believe it after two films.”
He’s not alone… I know that there are many fans who share in his disbelief but for entirely different reasons… Is this really the best Batman we could get? Apparently, the production crew seems to think so, based on what Affleck said next.
“Kevin Tsujihara, Sue Kroll and Toby Emmerich said to me, ‘We want you to be our Batman.’ Matt Reeves, doing it, I would be an ape on the ground for Matt Reeves, never mind be Batman. It’s incredible! I’m really blown away and excited. It’s a great time in the DC universe… and you can see why I am so excited to play Batman.”
Well, at least Wonder Woman is in the next movie alongside Batman, right?
Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
