Jon & Kate plus legal problems? The former reality TV couple who rose to fame thanks to their enormous brood reportedly had the cops called to one of their kids’ dentists appointments after the Gosselin parents got into an argument about custody.
The heated feud took place at a dentist’s office in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, when one of the parents drove the daughter to the appointment but the pair could not agree on who would be taking her home, TMZ reported.
Although the exact terms of their custody deal were never released to the public and are notoriously complicated because of the logistic challenges involved with raising eight children, it was largely understood that Jon and Kate had a shared custody agreement that saw their children spend roughly equal amounts of time with each parent.
This time, however, there appeared to be some confusion as to whose turn it was to take the daughter home. When cops eventually arrived, they told the bickering couple to air their grievances in a courtroom, not a dentist’s office; Jon ended up taking the daughter with him.
The couple rose to fame in 2007 when they signed a deal to star in their own reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” after appearing in a number of highly-rated specials in years prior. By 2009, however, the couple announced that they would be divorcing and would move in and out of their Pennsylvania home in order to keep the children’s lives stable.
In the years following their bitter divorce, the Gosselins have repeatedly made headlines over their custody confrontations, with Jon stating that he wants to take Kate to court in order to obtain joint physical and legal custody of the children. In interviews, he has accused his ex-wife of ruining their children’s childhoods by saddling them with an excessive amount of chores and behaving erratically.
