The official Star Wars website has announced that J.J. Abrams will be returning for Episode IX and I don’t care what anyone says, this is GREAT news? Have you seen the messes surrounding Episode VIII? Yikes.
Anyway, regardless of what a few nitpicky nerds have had to say, most people really liked Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and we have Abrams to thank for that.
Now, he will come back to complete the trilogy as both a director and writer alongside Chris Terrio. The film will, of course, be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm.
Kennedy, the current Lucasfilm president, said of the announcement, “With The Force Awakens, J.J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy.”
