Most people became familiar with Megyn Kelly when she was on the Fox News Network. Her popularity reached a peak, however, when the conservative pundit squared off against Donald Trump while he was running for president.
After the election, she left Fox and joined NBC’s Today Show as a contributor and, as of this morning, has her own segment on the morning program.
During a sit-down on Ellen, the conversation turned to our new president. The host asked Kelly if she’d ever have Trump on as a guest. Kelly immediately said, “Definitely. I mean, I wouldn’t say no to the sitting president of the United States. Absolutely not. Would you?” Without hesitation, DeGeneres said, “Yeah.”
The audience erupted in cheers as DeGeneres explained, ”He is who he is. He has enough attention. He has his Twitter account and he has ways to get his message across. There’s nothing I’m going to say to him that’s gonna change him.”
It was a tough position to put Kelly in since her background has been political and she’s trying to create her own brand. DeGeneres already has a strong fanbase and might feel more comfortable taking that kind of stand.
Either way, it was an interesting moment. Check out the full exchange in this video!
