A sex robot developer from Spain is mourning the loss of his creation, Samantha, after the doll’s charms proved too irresistible for a group of male tech fair attendees. Their rough treatment allegedly left Samantha in desperate need of repairs and a deep clean.
Sergi Santos, a sex doll mastermind from Barcelona, is the man behind Samantha, an intelligent pleasure robot who is programmed to respond in a very sexual way to human touch. Massaging her breasts, for example, causes Samantha to moan.
But when Santos took her to the Arts Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, Samantha’s lifelike appearance drew far too much attention from a group of tech nerds who treated the silicone sweetheart “like barbarians.”
“The people mounted Samantha’s breasts, her legs and arms. Two fingers were broken. She was heavily soiled,” Santos lamented to Metro. “People can be bad. Because they did not understand the technology and did not have to pay for it, they treated the doll like barbarians.”
A distraught Santos was forced to pack Samantha up and overnight her back to his base of operation in Barcelona so that she could undergo emergency repairs and cleaning. While she’s currently in bad shape, her creator is optimistic that this won’t be the last of her.
“Samantha can endure a lot, she will pull through,” he hoped.
The sex doll industry appears to be thriving in Europe, where the world’s first sex robot brothel – also located in Barcelona – was forced to close down by local authorities after it proved too popular.
In the United Kingdom, an adult boutique owner recently made the rounds on TV to show off his own Samantha, a sex robot that can seamlessly switch between firing off jokes in “family mode” and cooing sweet nothings in “intimate mode.”
