Over the past few days, Harvey Weinstein has been accused of many things ranging from intimidation to rape while many of Hollywood’s elite attempt to distance themselves from this mess.

One such person is Ben Affleck, a regular Weinstein collaborator, who released the following statement:

I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power.

You might be tempted to pat Mr. Affleck on the back but, at least, two women have publicly challenged him.

Hilarie Burton, who is currently expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, was just 19 when she welcomed Ben Affleck to the set of MTV’s TRL as a host.

During his interview, he unexpectedly leaned forward and put his arm around her and, before pulling away, tweaked her left breast, she claims.

When a Twitter user wrote, “he also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though,” Burton, replied, “I didn’t forget.” Wow!

In a much more direct exchange, Rose McGowan tweeted “Ben Affleck f- off” before explaining that, after she told him that Weinstein had assaulted her, his response was ”Goddamnit! I told him to stop doing that.” For good measure, she added, “you lie.” Shots. Fired.

McGowan was 23 years old when she received a $100,000 settlement after an ”episode in a hotel room at the Sundance Film Festival.” She was forced to attend a press conference immediately after the incident which is where she recounted the events to Affleck.

When The New York Times emailed her for comment, she confirmed that her tweet was “asserting that Mr. Affleck knew about Mr. Weinstein’s mistreatment of her because she had told him, and that she was accusing Mr. Affleck of lying because his statement did not acknowledge awareness of Mr. Weinstein’s behavior.”

Not a good look, Affleck. It’s bad enough that his divorce from Jennifer Garner has been attributed to his womanizing behavior but let’s not forget that his kid brother, Casey Affleck, has also been involved with a sexual harassment settlement (which may be why his wife has left him).

Who else is this scandal gonna take out?!
