An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power comes out on DVD and Blu-ray today and, whether you believe in climate change or not, it’s important for every citizen of the Earth to be open to listening and learning. After all, without information we cannot make informed decisions.
It’s been 10 years since the original Academy Award-winning film, An Inconvenient Truth, was released which gives us just enough time to have perspective and to see how things have changed since Al Gore first issued his warning to mankind.
An Inconvenient Sequel won the 2017 Environmental Media Award for Best Documentary Film and it’s easy to see why. There’s an urgency to the message being sent, especially at a time when the current administration is rolling back policies and regulations that many feel are meant to protect the planet.
Hailed as “a wake-up-call” by Chris Nashawaty at Entertainment Weekly, there are scenes that will leave you with your mouth open and shaking your head. Yes, some footage is downright devastating.
Even if you don’t believe the changes in our climate are man-made, most of us can agree that we can do better. We keep our homes clean so why wouldn’t we extend that respect to our environment?
Recycling, reducing waste, and being mindful of how we use our resources, has nothing to do with politics or being manipulated by some agenda created by China. It’s about being a decent human being and this documentary is a great reminder of why that’s important.
While it’s more ecologically-friendly to buy the Digital Download, both the Blu-ray and DVD come with covers made of Clay-Coated News Back (CCNB) from 100% recycled content, a 100% recycled chipboard tray to hold the disc, and an insert printed on 100% recycled coated paper. We should want all of our movies to be packaged this way. It was fun to open and it takes up so much less space!
The Blu-ray disc also includes more than 40 minutes of bonus content and you won’t want to miss the behind-the-scenes look at Al Gore and the filmmakers discussing why this sequel was so important.
