It’s almost getting hard to keep track of who hasn’t been accused of sexual harassment in Hollywood as new allegations crop up every single day. Right now, Brett Ratner has been accused by, at least, six women and the repercussions have already started to be seen.
After the women, including actress, Olivia Munn, went public with their accusations, it didn’t take long for Playboy Enterprises to quickly distance itself from the director as his attorney denied any wrongdoing. Late Wednesday, even Warner Bros. severed ties with Ratner after opting not to renew his expired contract.
So, what did Ratner allegedly do? Munn says she visited him in his trailer on the set of his 2004 film, After the Sunset, and he masturbated in front of her among other things. Yikes!
Ratner who directed the “Rush Hour” film series, “Red Dragon,” ”X-Men: The Last Stand” and “Tower Heist” was just presented with an award at the Jewish National Fund dinner on Saturday. The presenter, Patty Jenkins, who directed Wonder Woman, took to Twitter yesterday to say that, while she was disturbed by the accusations, she had never witnessed him being inappropriate.
In the meantime, Ratner’s lawyer issued a statement saying that the director “vehemently denies the outrageous derogatory allegations” and is “confident that his name will be cleared once the current media frenzy dies down and people can objectively evaluate the nature of these claims.”
We’re sure this isn’t the last we will hear about this.
