A Nebraska man will spend the next two years in prison after he was convicted of a felony charge for sending prostitutes to strip on his neighbor’s porch while he watched from his kitchen window.
45-year-old Douglas Goldsberry of Elkhorn was found guilty of pandering for tormenting his neighbors, a married couple, by calling prostitutes and directing them to strip naked on their porch, the Omaha World-Herald reported.
The unsuspecting homeowners’ ordeal began in 2013, when women began showing up a couple of times each month, usually late at night or early in the morning. After stripping, the women would try to collect payment by knocking on the front door or ringing the doorbell, with some of them growing angry when the couple refused.
Understandably, the stunt had a severe impact on the family’s lives. Unbeknownst to them, their suffering was caused by Goldsberry, who lived just across the street.
“It’s a really twisted and sick plot,” said Deputy Douglas County Attorney Chad Brown, who described Goldsberry using it as “a screening process.”
“He derived pleasure out of how far he could control these women to see how far he could get them to go.”
Investigators were able to link Goldsberry to the jilted prostitutes by tracking down phone records. He was slapped with the maximum penalty of four years in prison on the pandering charge, but state guidelines dropped his sentence to two years and he will receive credit for 177 days already served.
Authorities also uncovered child pornography on electronic devices belonging to Goldsberry. He now faces one count of possession of child pornography, which could see him spend an additional 20 years in prison if convicted.
“I have concerns for the safety of women, taxpayers, and everyone else in Douglas County,” Brown said. “The state’s concern is fueled by his deviant, narcissistic appetite for his sexual desires.”
