Actor George Takei has become the latest Hollywood figure to find himself at the center of a salacious sexual assault accusation, with former male model Scott R. Bruton alleging that he was groped by the “Star Trek” alum after being invited back to Takei’s apartment in 1981.

Brunton claims that he met Takei while working at a restaurant in Los Angeles and would frequently run into him while out on the town. He happened to run into Takei one night while he was recovering from a breakup with his then-boyfriend, so Takei invited Brunton out for dinner and then back to his condo for a drink.

“The next thing I remember I was coming to and he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear,” Brunton told The Hollywood Reporter.

“I came to and said, ‘What are you doing?!’ I said, ‘I don’t want to do this.’ He goes, ‘You need to relax. I am just trying to make you get comfortable. Get comfortable.’ And I said, ‘No. I don’t want to do this.’ And I pushed him off and he said, ‘OK, fine.’”

Brunton quickly left Takei’s condo and sat inside of his car until he “felt well enough to drive home, and that was that.”

Takei took to Twitter to flatly deny Brunton’s story, insisting that nothing of the sort ever happened.

“Friends, I’m writing to respond to the accusations made by Scott R. Brunton. I want to assure you all that I am as shocked and bewildered at these claims as you must feel reading them,” he said.

“The events he describes back in the 1980s simply did not occur, and I do not know why has claimed them now. I have wracked my brain to ask if I remember Mr. Brunton, and I cannot say I do. But I do take these claims very seriously and I wanted to provide my response thoughtfully and not out of the moment.”

Takei went on to describe Brunton’s story as “so antithetical to my values and practices” and notes that he has the full support of his husband.

Some fans have called out Takei for making statements against fellow actor Kevin Spacey’s own sexual abuse allegations that now seem hypocritical in light of recent events:
