Many big names in Hollywood are coming forward with allegations of sexual assault but, mostly, these stories are shared on social media without any legal action being taken. Terry Crews is an exception to this trend.
The former Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department. A formal investigation will be launched and managed by the Robbery Homicide Division.
According to TMZ, Crews claims he was sexually assaulted by someone in Hollywood which is supported by the fact that the 49-year-old also tweeted that it was a “high-level” executive.
Apparently, this person walked over to him at a function and “groped” Crews’ privates. On Twitter, Crews explained, ”this whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME. Jumping back I said, ‘What are you doing?!’ My wife saw everything [and] we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk.”
Some people might be surprised that the situation didn’t turn physical with a big guy like Crews but he detailed, ”I was going to kick his a** right then – but I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear. ‘Two-Hundred-and-Forty Pound Black Man Stomps Out Hollywood Honcho’ would be the headline the next day. Only I probably wouldn’t have been able to read it because I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL. So we left.”
He also says that over the next two days, he told anyone who would listen about what happened to him. It’s unclear whether anyone supported his decision to move forward with a complaint but we do know that he has left his talent agency, WME.
