Season 10 of The X-Files had its ups and downs for sure but it did end on a high note. Trapped on a bridge, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) is at death’s door while Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) looks up at the sky as a possible UFO hovers above her. How will the creative team address this?
In a new promo for Season 11, Duchovny and Anderson, along with the show’s creator, Chris Carter, discuss the cliffhanger and unveil a glimpse of what fans can expect in January.
There’s a lot of emphasis on William, Mulder and Scully’s son. Ever since the original series ended, fans have wanted to know who adopted that baby and have longed to see him reunited with his birth parents.
Carter explains that, what they’ve been working on is “quite unlike anything we’d ever done before” and that viewers can expect a “dramatic solution” to the events from last season.
In the closing shot of the promo, we see Skinner with a full-on beard in a car with the Cigarette Smoking Man who has, somehow, miraculously survived being blown to bits. He turns to Skinner and says, “I’m asking you to betray the whole human race” before adding, “do you mind if I smoke?” Classic!
If you haven’t seen it yet, catch the promo here. Can’t wait for the new season to begin!
