President Donald Trump has offered a full-throated endorsement of Alabama GOP Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore, pointing to the Democrats’ party line rejection of the tax overhaul as the reason why conservative voters must elect a Republican.

“Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. Not to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!” Trump tweeted early Monday morning.

The president went on to herald his administration’s strong positive impact on the economy, insisting that a victory for Democratic challenger Doug Jones would thwart his agenda.

“Putting Pelosi/Schumer Liberal Puppet Jones into office in Alabama would hurt our great Republican Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime, strong on military and borders…& so much more,” Trump wrote. “Look at your 401-k’s since Election. Highest Stock Market EVER! Jobs are roaring back!”

Fresh off securing Trump’s support, Moore himself took to Twitter to borrow some of Trump’s campaign rhetoric to solidify his link to the president’s brand.

“Thankful for President Trump’s support,” he wrote. “The America First agenda will #MAGA. Can’t wait to help him #DrainTheSwamp. #ALSEN.”

Moore’s campaign has been plagued by allegations from nine women who claim that he sexually harassed them when they were in their teens and he was in his thirties. The former Alabama Supreme Court Justice has soundly denied the claims, blaming his Democratic rivals for manufacturing them to hurt his election chances.

Over the weekend, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signaled that he would no longer call on Moore to back out of the race. Instead, he suggested that the allegations against Moore could be handled by the Senate Ethics Committee once he wins the race.
