Robbers take note: you might want to give this place a wide berth the next time you’re out looking for a quick buck. A Texas café owner managed to fend off a trio of robbers by wrestling the gun out of one of their hands and popping off a warning shot, sending them fleeing for their lives.
The harrowing incident took place at Bambu Desserts & Drinks in Houston and was caught on surveillance footage, KTRK reported. At around 11:00 am on Thursday morning, three men entered the premises intent on robbing the place, but the owner was not having it.
One of the robbers pointed a gun at the clerk’s head and demanded he open the safe. Instead of getting access to the goods, though, the culprit found himself on the other end of a very angry owner who wasn’t about to hand over his hard-earned cash.
After a brief but intense struggle, the owner managed to gain possession of the gun. Either accidentally or purposefully, he fired a shot inside the businesses, shattering the front door of the business, but it was enough to cause the suspects to flee. Nobody was harmed.
The bandits then fled into a nearby neighborhood. Police tried to track them down but were unsuccessful, even after the Harris County Sheriff’s office dispatched a search helicopter and multiple cruisers. Now, officials are asking the public to come forward if they have any information leading to the robbers’ arrests.
