Not long after this Harvey Weinstein disaster went down, Rose McGowan, who was reportedly paid $100,000 to keep quiet about her sexual assault, went after film legend, Meryl Streep, accusing the celebrated actress of remaining silent over the years.
In response, Streep issued a very lengthy statement while simply saying “I didn’t know.” There were many people who worked closely with Weinstein who were shocked by the stories and reports. Why target Streep?
Now, it seems that the Oscar winner is tired of people taking her to task and is, instead, deflecting attention while pointing the finger at Melania and Ivanka Trump.
Her argument is that, in addition to women alleging they were abused by Donald Trump, there is an audio recording of him confessing to touching and kissing women without waiting for their consent.
Streep said: ”I don’t want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump. I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now.”
Neither women have commented after being called out.
