Bestselling author Michael Wolff is confident that his bombshell Trump exposé, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” will ultimately result in President Donald Trump getting removed from office under the 25th Amendment by shedding light on his alleged mental incapacity to govern.
During an interview with BBC News, Wolff likened himself to a character in a famous fairy tale by claiming that he is the one who will reveal, once and for all, the facts that can and will terminate the Trump presidency.
“The story that I’ve told seems to present this presidency in such a way that it says he can’t do his job, the emperor has not clothes,” he said. “And suddenly, everywhere, people are going, ‘Oh my God, it’s true, he has no clothes.’ That’s the background to the perception and the understanding that will finally end this – that will end this presidency.”
Wolff went on to argue that Trump is not fit to be president both because of his attitude and his health.
“He doesn’t read, he doesn’t listen, he’s profoundly uncurious. He’s just interested in what he’s interest in and isn’t interested in the larger problems of the world, almost any of them,” he charged. “That’s on the one hand, so the other side is he’s experiencing now issues, fundamentally physical, mental issues.”
“I think he’s intellectually incapable of being president of the United States,” Wolff concluded, pointing to his alleged inability to pass legislation or implement policies.
Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to defend himself from the characterization laid out in the book, blasting “Sloppy Steve Bannon” for offering some of the more attention-grabbing quotes to Wolff and reaffirming his capabilities.
“I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius…. and a very stable genius at that!” Trump quipped.
