It was a star-studded event as the newest Marvel film made it’s big debut. Black Panther impressed audiences and is said to be a worthy addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe while blazing its own path.
As Erik Davis, managing editor of Fandango, said on Twitter, it’s “the James Bond of the MCU. You’ve seen nothing like this in a superhero movie – it’s bold, beautiful & intense, but there’s a depth & spiritualness that is unlike anything Marvel has ever done. It’s 100% African & it is dope …”
The film was directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan.
The story follows T’Challa (Boseman), a prince of the fictitious African nation of Wakanda. He’s also known as superhero, Black Panther. The timeline fits in after everything went crazy during Captain America: Civil War and sees T’Challa trying to get back to his homeland to take the throne after his father dies.
