I actually fell into eBay by accident and circumstances after a major life event. I had just gone through a divorce and been downsized out of a job at the same time, and began selling my own household items to pay bills while I was looking for another job. One day I was shopping in a thrift store for an outfit to wear to a job interview, and I found a brand new, gorgeous 100% silk, Banana Republic skirt, with a $98 tag. The thrift store price was $2, but the skirt wasn’t my size. I thought to myself, “Wow, I wish I knew someone to give this to.” Then a voice said, “You don’t have to. You can sell it on eBay.” And so my eBay business was born.

Since 2003, I have sold over 15,000 items to buyers worldwide. eBay is a great fit for stay-at-home or work-at-home moms, since Moms in general love the idea because their kids are constantly outgrowing clothes and toys, and eBay gives them a way to recoup some of the expense of those items. I actually wrote a book to help other moms make money on eBay, “The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Successful eBay Selling.” (Amazon.) I’ve since realized that eBay is also a great fit for retirees, college students, and anyone who wants to add another stream of income to the household.

I’ve also created a free forum for eBay sellers, video tutorials, podcasts, a resource library, and a collection of eBay How-To articles to help you on the road to eBay success. Most everyone has “stuff” in their homes that can be sold on eBay for a profit. The problem is that many people are not aware of what they can sell, what types of items are profitable, or they are intimidated by the eBay process in general. This blog will help you get started. In summary, selling on eBay is convenient, relatively easy, safe, inexpensive, flexible, and fun! I welcome your comments and suggestions to make this blog an informative and fun place to learn about eBay selling.

Happy selling!
