Bionic Commando was released for Windows yesterday, months after its debut for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While many games are featuring an open environment, Bionic Commando does include barriers to keep players on task which, of course, results in the game having a more linear feel.
The game follows Nathan “Rad” Spencer (voiced by Faith No More frontman, Mike Patton), who gets reunited with his bionic arm when an explosion saves him from execution after he is betrayed and falsely imprisoned by his own government. Spencer works alongside Super Joe/Superintendent Joseph Gibson as they try to clear his name along with that of the Tactical Arms and Security Committee (or T.A.S.C) which specializes in training bionic commandos. If they succeed, bionics will become legal again.
I think the bionic arm looks pretty cool since it can be used to grab and launch objects (including cars) at enemies. He’s also got some great boots that not only provide some amazing kicking power but also protect his feet during long falls.
