“Grease” Video Game in Development

A new series of video games on the popular musical (and film), Grease, is being developed by Paramount Digital Entertainment and 505 Games exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS.  They should start to become available in 2010.

I’m not sure (and details are scant) what a Grease video game would include but since it’s only for the Wii and the DS, I’m assuming it will involve using the Wiimote or Stylus in some way.

Since the musical and movies are known for their dance moves, as well as their musical numbers, it could be possible that the Wii Balance Board or some sort of Dance Dance Revolution type mat could be needed (at least for the Wii version).

I guess the most telling thing is the following statment from Paramount: “Grease is the ideal opportunity to reach a broad gaming audience who love to sing, dance and have fun with a party-style game.”

Who knows?  Maybe they are working on something entirely different and we’ll all be surprised and/or blown away.  I doubt I’ll be pre-ordering this one but I’m definitely curious.

I am so greatly looking forward to this. I hope it has a rock band meets dance dance revolution style to it. I would dominate this game! I’m sure there are some men out there who would really appreciate this game too!

It really could be a lot of fun. I’m really interested in what this will look like!
