Abcnews.go.com posted 10 Germy Surfaces You Touch Every Day. I’ll run down the list and add a few of my own. If you want the full details on the ABC news list you’ll have to follow the link at the bottom.
- Purses And Wallets
- Remote Controls
- Laundry Machines
- Cutting Boards
- Your Phone
- Water Fountains
- Buttons
- Yoga Mats
- Airplane Bathrooms
- Shopping Carts
These are great examples of areas that most people touch almost every day. Here are a few of ones that I can think of.
- Bathroom door handles: When I use a public restroom I always wash my hands. I also get the paper towel ready before I start and don’t shut off the water until after I have the paper towel in hand and use it to shut the water off and use the paper towel again to open the bathroom door. You may wash your hands, but that doesn’t mean the last guy did.
- Your computer keyboard and mouse: how many times have you sneezed around your keyboard or blew your nose and not washed your hands before going back to work.
- Your weight lifting gear: to include your barbell, dumb bell handles, etc. Between sweat and saliva, these are huge areas for germs.
- Toothbrush: Even though you may rinse and wash it, it is still a place for germs to hide. Not to mention the fact that toilet aerosols can be projected up to 6 feet or more from your toilet every time you flush. Put the lid down before you flush.
