10 People that Are Overpaid

SO, last week, on Saturday, I offered a list of people who are underpaid, according to Len Penzo. Well, now he’s got a list of overpaid folks. And there are 10 of them. I found it an interesting list:

1. Government Civil Servants
2. Professional Athletes
3. TV, Movie and Music Stars
4. College Football Coaches
5. Public School Administrator
6. Hedge and Mutual Fund Managers
7. Voice Actors
8. Lawyers
9. High-End Real Estate Agents
10. Television Weather Forecasters

I thought this list quite interesting. He makes a point about government civil servants: They are often paid more than those in the private sector, and they get amazing pensions. For people who are supposed to be serving We the People, they sure get a lot for their “service.” I suppose it’s one thing to pay millions to entertainment stars, since we can choose not to buy tickets, but it’s hard to stop Congress from giving itself a raise — especially since most people just vote the party line rather than looking at a track record.

At any rate, it is an interesting list (and one person’s opinion). And it does get one thinking…
