My friends Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten from the world’s greatest business book seller, 800-CEO-READ, have a book coming out in February. It’s called The 100 Best Business Books of All Time, and it is outstanding! Jack sent me a galley to review, and wow! I was impressed. I’m getting a hardcover as soon as it comes out too, I think it’s that good.

As a manager, you’re probably wondering, “Why should you buy this book?”

5 reasons to buy The 100 Best Business Books of All Time

  1. It has reviews of 100 books so you know which books you should add to your library (or you can feel smart knowing which of the best books are already in your library).
  2. It’s only $25.95, which means you’re investing less than $.26 per book review.
  3. It’s got a wonderful leadership section, so you’ll be able to talk to your manager a little bit more about what her/his favorite book is.
  4. It’s got a management section, so you can be a better manager.
  5. It’s easy to understand even if you haven’t read any other business/management books.

I linked to the 800-CEO-READ listing of The 100 Best Business Books of All Time so if you want to get multiple copies, you’ll get the best deal.

If you’re wondering if any of these books are still relevant today, the answer is ABSOLUTELY! In the book, Jack and Todd share “The second factor in choosing this book was the applicability of this idea for someone working today.”

Order your copy of The 100 Best Business Books of All Time today, so you can get it delivered in time for Valentine’s Day, to share with someone you love…YOU!

    It sounds interesting.

Is there a way to test drive the book?

I looked for the list of books it covers and an example of a book write up or chapter, but couldn’t find any.

In today’s world of info overload, I’m a fan of test driving the experience.

  2. J.D. – I don’t know if you can test drive the book like you want to, but you can check out the information at their blog at http://800ceoread.com/blog/archives/008652.html?blog_id=1

  3. J.D.,

Here are two reviews from The 100 Best that you can download as pdfs:

    The Essential Drucker: http://tinyurl.com/a3×3pv

    To Engineer Is Human: http://tinyurl.com/7u5cqo

Hope that helps with the test drive.

Sooo many books – so little time! I have TOO many books now! And I keep adding to my list! Thanks a lot!!! I have a library in my home now with over 1500 books! It’s a good thing that I have e-books as well otherwise I’d have 2000 books in my little personal library!

Every year I go through ad see what books I can give to the Public Library.

I already have close to 100 book list I want to read – plus I am going for my Project Management certification – MORE books!!!

  6. Sorry CK. Maybe this one book will help you find the books you really ought be reading, so you can give away the rest?

Good luck on your PM cert!

  7. J.D. Meier says:

    Thanks Todd

    Yes, that helps!

  8. CK says:

At least half of those books or more are my wife’s books! And some of those she had co-written for other companies/organizations. Those are a ‘no touch’ territory for me! LOL!!!

The list of books I am refering to is from the “Personal MBA” book list. But I also include my Medieval History books in that number … I’m sure none of them are listed!
