After 5 generations of iPods, 2 generations of iPod Minis, 2 generations of iPod Nanos and 2 generations of iPod Shuffles, Apple has sold its 100 millionth iPod. Not bad. Not bad at all.
I owned 3 of those 100 million and counting iPods. I’m happy to be part of history. Seldom comes a product which impacts its world the way the iPod has. It has literally moved the music industry to the digital era. Sure it wasn’t the first digital music player in the market but it was the first one to gain such a following that coupled with the iTunes music store, it brought digital music to the massess. Music has never been the same.
Congratulations to Apple and all the people behind the iPod. Here’s to the next 100 million. Read the press release here.
