1000 Posts About Freelance Writing

Wow! I just realized that yesterday’s post, Series for Beginning Writers Continues, was actually my 1000th post. Which, of course, makes this one 1001.
What is it about numbers like 10, or 100, or 1,000 that tend to mark some sort of anniversary or specialness? Of course there are other things I do that I have no intention of counting, like the number of solitaire games or junk novels read.
And it’s not me that’s counting blog posts, but WordPress, the software that makes it possible. It also informs me that there have been 1,379 comments that I’ve approved and 116,321 that have been marked and deleted as spam.
What does it all mean? Who knows for sure, but I’m sort of tickled by the whole thing.
Write well and often,

Two newsletters:
Abundant Freelance Writing – a resource for freelance writers including 3x a week job postings.
Writing With Vision – for those who want to get a book written.

1379 comments reviewed and posted, vs. 116,321 spam attempts? That’s almost ten-to-one. Amazing.
I.
John, I had to dig through two days of the spam to find your comment and one other I had deleted… in addition to the usual porn, car insurance seems to be huge… plus those folks who post “nice blog” and there seems to be no reason at all… I know a lot of this is automated, but I’m not clear on how they make money. sigh
Congratulations, Anne! That’s a real milestone and is only one mark of your service to the writing community.
And GRRRR to the spam!
Makes me glad my own blog forces people to go through a couple of hoops to respond to me.
thanks Audrey
