11 New Freelance Writing and Editing Jobs

Freelance writers often ask “how do I do a resume for my writing?” My answer is, “Don’t – do a credit list instead.”

When you’re looking for a full-time job, the prospective employer wants not only to know you have the necessary skills, but that you’re likely to stay around awhile. A resume, with its history of jobs, helps provide that.

But, when someone wants to hire you as a freelance writer, they want to know you can do the job. The best way to reassure them is with a list of your writing credits. The best way to show them is by listing your writing credits. You can take a look at the way I set up mine here.

The next question is often something like, “But I haven’t been published! What do I do now?”

I’ve yet to run into someone who wants to freelance who hasn’t got some sort of credits. Read No Clips? No Problems! and you’ll see what I mean.

Write well, and often!

In these posts where the title is # new jobs, where’s the link? I’m able to find it after some poking around but it would be helpful if you provided the direct link at the top of your post. Thanks!

well, the title is the link… I’ll ask our webmaster if it can be underlined in the future – thanks.

I figured that a while later. The titles on the other posts are the links to the posts themselves so it wasn’t clear to me before that these ones link someplace else. Thanks.

Actually, I discourage the use of external links being used as the links to the titles. This is bad for our SEO. :-( Not also good for the sitemap. That’s why we usually use the permalinks to the articles itself as the link. Or, internal links.
