14 New Freelance Writing Jobs
This week among the 14 new freelance writing jobs are some job titles that are new to me. The first is an essay counselor for MBA candidates. The fact that writing counselors are needed for Masters level students certainly reflects poorly on how our schools are teaching people about writing.

Naming Specialist is another new one to me, although I’ve had a sense that such positions existed. This is just the first time I’ve seen it spelled out clearly.

Finally, a call for a rewriter / editor for comic books surprised me. It makes sense and I’m glad to see the offering.

It will be interesting to see if any of these freelance job categories appear again. We may be seeing the start of something new.

But the real news in these posts is that there’s plenty of work out there for freelance writers, and that’s always nice to know.

Write well and often.

I don’t think the essay couselor for prospective MBA students are meant to edit their writing per se, but more to give them advice on what to write about to increase their chances of admission. This is reflected in the ad which asks for graduates of top business schools. I looked over my sister’s essays for her MBA applications and found that the essays needed to reflect people’s specialized experience prior to going to business school.

Oh, and just to clarify because I made the same mistake in my comment, the MBA essay counselor assists "aspiring MBA applicants" NOT already enrolled students.

Lei, you may be right… this might not have been a writing job at all, although I do think writers might make good coaches/conselors for such a task…
