$15 to Check Your Bag, Please

American Airlines is charging $15 to check your first bag. That’s right. Your first bag. And cutting flights. Well, airlines have been canceling flights left and right for a couple of weeks now.

As oil prices skyrocket, expect such inconvenient changes as airlines try to offset costs. How long before other airlines, like Delta, follow suit?
You know your ticket isn’t going to get any cheaper…

    Wow. Air travel has never been so annoying. The combination of oil prices, struggling airlines and security makes me want to never fly again.

    Yep. Everything’s getting more expensive. And don’t forget all the tips you hand out left and right when traveling.

    I don’t mind the security that much from my point of origin, since the Salt Lake City airport has divided up the lines so that if you have a family, you go to one line, and if you are a frequent traveler with little in the way of carry-ons you go to another line. It really speeds things up for us.
