16 Year Old Revolutionizes Aerodynamics, Solves Dirichlet problem
Michael Viscardi wasn’t a well known name among aircraft designers, but that has changed. Back in the 19th century Lejeune Dirichlet came up with a a mathematics stumper that nobody has been able to solve until now.
His answer to the problem has many potential benefits in the areas of engineering, physics, and wing design. But I’ll be honest with you…. I really have no idea what this math equation has to do with wing design…. other than he says it does. I’ll take his word on it for now.
For his six months of efforts, Michael Viscardi will receive a $100,000 college scholarship.
“It was almost impossible for our judges to figure out the limits of his understanding during our questioning, and he’s only 16 years old,” said lead judge Constance Atwell, a consultant and former research director at the National Institutes of Health.
