18 People Arrested For Stealing Yankee Stadium

Sometimes nostalgia just isn’t enough. At the 85-year-old stadium’s final curtain call the other night, about 18 people were arrested for stealing pieces of Yankee Stadium.

The stadium police staff double their efforts to keep people from tearing apart sacred venue.

But really … can you blame them? Saying goodbye to Yankee Stadium is realizing the end of an era. The many legends and historic games that graced the field must now be committed to memory. It’s easy to understand how someone could want a “piece” of that.

Or maybe they just wanted to make an extra buck on e-bay.
