The last year has not been a good one for the corporate world. Many world companies have lost a great deal of money. CNN Money and Fortune have put together a list of the 20 biggest losers in the Global 500 . Here they are:

  1. Fannie Mae
  2. 2927366885_af3a9294d2

  3. Royal Bank of Scotland
  4. General Motors
  5. Citigroup
  6. UBS
  7. ConocoPhillips
  8. Ford Motor
  9. HBOS
  10. Time Warner
  11. Pemex
  12. Delta Air Lines
  13. Hypo Real Estate holding
  14. Hitachi
  15. Alcatel-Lucent
  16. Credit-Suisse
  17. BayernLB
  18. LynondellBasell Industries
  19. Flextronics International
  20. Mizuho Financial Group
  21. Deutsche Bank

Looking at the list, it’s not too hard to figure out why they are here. And it’s not much of a surprise that Fannie Mae is the biggest loser of all.
