The vehicle of choice for most city police precinks, the Impala is always up for the chase. Not only does the Impala boast a large engine, it also contains the sporty heavy duty four-speed automatic, electronically controlled with overdrive transmission. The specially tuned suspansion also gives the car an added edge on the road.
Some added perks that come with the new Impala is the unusual flip and fold flat rear seats, effectively turning the Impala into a semi-utility vehicle. The 2009 Impala SS ranks okay in the fuel economty department thanks mainly to the new active fuel management control that can achieve a 16mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. The active fuel management control is a system that switches the engine to burn fuel in only 4 of the 8 cylinders. This helps conserve gas when the extra power isn’t needed.
